Set your own Standards
and heal
Set your own standards
We build our temples with pillars
made of sand and stone,
to hold that temple together.
Choose the height, the strength of your own pillar.
Create it.
One must ask themselves
“what do I need my standard to be
in order to live this life fully?”
Oftentimes we lower our standards,
our walls, our bridges and gates
so that one may cross over to our side,
only to be left hurt and disappointed,
even though deep down you knew
you had compromised
on your standards.
Your standards are set in sand and stone,
set them high so others elevate,
when they elevate,
you too get to ascend
and life becomes a dream worth living.
Build your castle
Oftentimes our standards are shaped around fairy tales and stories along with standards that are developed and created through what we experience in the households and environments we each grew up in.
Some will experience variety in their lives and they will see what works and doesn’t work for them.
Majority of the Standard building is based on what things look like outside of ourselves. Rarely do we create standards internally for ourselves.
You are not a QR code that needs validation
Tough life lessons are taught through real life experience. A time arises for each of us in which we must look to the way we are
a) treating ourselves
b) how we allow ourselves to be treated by others
This is where self validation comes in.
If you bully yourself, your voice, your hair, your body, your mind it won’t take much for someone to come along and sweep you off your feet. Within moments you’ve given away your power to a stranger. Why? because they validated what you couldn’t.
“You sound so sweet”
“I love your skin”
“You look beautiful”
… you get the picture.
Unless you validate yourself with a daily practice others can and will woo you over with ease. You will lose your self empowerment, the inner Shakti (power) you were born with and you will spend your whole relationship/life trying to locate it outside of you. Even though it was always in you.
Love your Body, Mind your Thoughts
This is a simple yet very powerful exercise which I introduce my clients to and it goes something like this:
Me: Tell me about your hair
Client: I don’t really like my hair, its thin, its dry, I don’t know
Me: Close your eyes, breathe, now I’m going to ask you to say thank you and I love you to the roots of your hair.
Client: I don’t think I can
Me: You can
Client: Thank you and I love you (client’s face always changes at this point – it’s the expression of awareness that “I have never spoken to my hair before”)
Me: How do you feel?
Client: Strange/Ok I guess/I felt good
Me: Great, now tell me about your skin…
The journey is to go from head to toe and feel into what you speak to yourself daily. Check in on your self words. The language you speak. Transform it and know what YOU speak YOU become. In the end your cells are hearing your internal and external voice. Before you begin, make sure you choose to fall in love with your own Divine Healing Voice.
Perform Self Hypnosis
Use daily mantras and affirmations to affirm to yourself:
“I am amazing”
“I am courageous”
“I am blessed”
I came across a group recently called Humility, Kindness and Love and their slogan is:
“We are humility, we are kindness, we are love”
This too may feel healing for your cells.
Remember the journey is yours to take. We each have our own journey and our paths may cross or they may not. On the way the best we can do is guide, help, support or just smile at someone.
