Beliefs
What if I told you the beliefs you are holding aren’t even yours?

Beliefs
A bee-leaf.
Leaves represent changing times.
Just like we replace our clothes in every season
– spring, summer, autumn and winter –
trees wear new leaves and shed the old leaves too.
Our beliefs also have permission to change
as we grow into our unique DNA
and become our true selves.
Let me elaborate.
Think about this for a moment, you are 3-4 years old and you are playing. A voice shouts out “be careful” and your body, mind, spirit moves away from play to “am I doing something wrong?”.
You come home from school. A voice speaks “what have you been doing? You look a mess”. Your internal dialogue speaks back to you “did I do something wrong?”.
You hear an argument and then the adult appears frustrated. The adult enters the room you are in all flustered “Didn’t I tell you already to put all of your things away?”. Your inner child thinks to themselves once again “it’s my fault they are upset, I did something wrong”.
Beliefs don’t just happen overnight. They build with persistence and consistency.
The good news is once you become aware you get to shake off old beliefs that aren’t yours and move into beliefs that nurture, grow and heal you. Think of beliefs as a buzzing bee moving from flower to flower. It’s developing a taste for itself “oh I quite like this flower, I don’t connect with that flower”. As you were growing maybe you were invited and shown other flowers, yet none of those felt quite like you. One day you met that which matched you, your heart and in that moment an old leaf, a belief that was never yours, shed from your wings. A new leaf emerged “this is more me”.
You are a buzzing bee creating a nectar, a honey pot, filled with your heart. In order for that honey to be of the best quality it must be completely unique and real for you. “But if I step out of tradition, culture, society then I will be in trouble?”. Tradition, culture and society are excuses we hold, invisible walls that we say are blocking us from being ourselves. Truth is everyone is different. A real tradition, culture and society would celebrate our differences with open heartedness and love.
Real beliefs aren’t born from emotions of anger, greed and lust. They are born from a place where the heart is open, the heart feels vulnerable and exposed. The heart is in an experience of pure love and bliss.
For old beliefs to shed one must first locate their inner calm, to feel it, to be in it, to sense it and from here pure creation can emerge.
How?
Be ready to embrace yourself into your own healing journey.
See it, say it, feel it, be it, release it.
I can’t tell you what will work for you for your journey yet I can share everything I did to get myself to my here and my now.
I come from a world of Western Medicine and Eastern Wisdom. I used what I learnt from Dentistry, Hypnosis, NLP, CBT, Ayurveda, Yoga, Vastu, Jyotish and Energy Healing Modalities and what I learnt was the Mind can be brainwashed by you or by others.
What does this mean? It means that if you can choose “ I am anxious about…” on a daily basis and as you say it, you feel it in your body as REAL then the opposite must also be true “I am super excited about…” and now the heart moves excitement through your body instead of anxiety.
Surely it can’t be that simple? I am living proof, as are many, that your words will create your reality.
I was scared of the dark until the age of 37
I was scared to create videos of me speaking online until I was 40
I was scared of swimming until the age of 41
I was scared of dogs until the age of 42
The list grows on.
What did I do to move from one belief to another?
See it:
I shared my innermost feelings first with myself and universe/God. I journaled a lot in the beginning. This allowed me to write my truth as it appeared before me. Writing what I felt day to day. What emerged was where I am at right now. I began asking questions to the universe. I used my dominant hand to write the question and used my less dominant hand to answer these questions. There’s a belief that using both hands will engage you and your brain in a different way. Your spirit, your energy moves differently. In fact, a friend of mine told me to release stuck emotions it is good to consider colouring with your less dominant hand. What a thought! I am yet to give this a go, I love the sound of it and the imperfections that get to follow.
I began recording myself on my devices so I could see myself speak. Ufff the discomfort in the beginning was real. Cringe! Now, I love myself too much to not accept it all as “that’s me being real”. It’s why I don’t and wont edit my YouTube videos. The faces I pull, thats me. It’s all a part of my temple that has been gifted to me by God. It is my duty to love it fully before I give this vessel back to the divine.
Say it:
Not only did I do video recordings I also recorded my voice. The number of people I hear saying “I don’t like the sound of my voice” yet they wish to feel heard? Hmmmmm… It’s time to fall in love with your voice as well as the way you appear.
Good news is once you become aware of some of your quirks you can begin working on them. Your temple is not fixed. It is ever changing. Allow it time, give yourself patience to grow and fall in love with you. For me, I began in 2017 and it took me being divorced to finally move through my discomfort into my inner-power in 2023.
When you speak it out loud, your ears hear it from your own voice. This is the voice your thoughts hear. Now the voice is on a loud speaker so all the cells are paying more attention. Speak what you wish to call yourself loud and clear. The voice may tremble. Let it. It’s new, it’s nerve racking, it’s scary. You know what it becomes? It becomes healing, growing and nurturing towards your own heart health and your own cells. Let your cellular memory be one that loves you better.
Feel it:
Become aware of how words and thoughts you have about yourself affect you. You spend all day and all night with you. I ask that you pause the bullying and move to care and kindness for yourself.
Think about this, which compliment holds the most weight in love:
The compliment that comes from someone who daily speaks down to themselves or
The compliment that comes from one who embodies self love for themselves?
The compliment that comes from one who practices inner kindness and inner love feels REAL. The energy is pure, they aren’t there to flatter you or to make themselves feel good “I gave a great compliment today, I am such a nice person” no. They speak truth from their heart. They share a kindness that they speak onto themselves. That’s a gift that pays itself forward.
The words you speak carry feelings and emotions. As you read this give yourself permission to call yourself beautiful. “But I’m not, I can’t say it, it’s not true”. Everything created by God/universe is beautiful and I agree this for me didn’t change in a day yet it did become real for me with daily intentional practice.
“I am awesome”
“I am beautiful”
“I am amazing”
I spoke this as a Mantra since 2012. See it, Say it, Feel it.
Be it:
Over time, in your own time, your body hears you and believes you. This is self-hypnosis in action. You can’t rush your healing journey yet you can be an intentional part of the healing process. Sit with your feelings. Let waves of emotions pass in you and through you. Sit in your silence. Let words move, memories flow, tears release, tension go. Connect inside to you. The moment you begin to understand you better is the moment when others can no longer control you. The moment you align into yourself is the moment you set yourself free from the beliefs of others so you can move from your bee-ing. Be a Free Bee not a freebie that gets to be manipulated and controlled through others.
