Prakruti is the root word in the Vedic Sankhya Philosophy for the Divine Feminine energy which permeates the entire universe.
Purush is the Sanskrit root word for the Divine Masculine energy.
In this poetic tale Mother Earth is holding Earth, her divine creation (prakruti) and this is supported by universal energy in the form of Purush.
Yet, the seer, the Rishi’s, the Sages, the Sadhu’s, the true Guru’s understand that there is a force, an energy, a Grand Master that was the creator of both the Prakruti and the Purush. The Brahmaan. The universal creator. Do not mistake this for Brahma the God in Hinduism.
Brahmaan
The eternal, all pervading energy which exists within everything small, everything big, everything microscopic and everything macroscopic and within each of these will live Prakruti and Purush.
Sankhya Philosophy
The Sankhya Philosophy has been studied by many scholars over the centuries and recently I found references to it in a journal I have been studying by an enlightened Saint titled “Ishwar Amok Laal, the spiritual diary of Sant Ishar Singh Ji, Rara Sahib”
What’s special about this philosophy is that it takes you on a journey from the Brahmaan and it moves like a spiritual dance to the union of Prakruti and Purush. Like when the egg is met by the sperm and creation manifests.
This union creates a seed called Mahat, cosmic consciousness – that which is connected intimately to the entire universe.
From Mahat (universal consciousness) the seed grows into Buddhi (intelligence) that is viewing the cosmos from its lens.
From Buddhi it learns of its Ahamkar (ego) and the I am surfaces creating separation now from the universal consciousness. It now knows itself as an individual soul not a collective soul.
The I am gives rise to the 3 Guna’s (qualities)
Sattva gives rise to:
- Manas (mind)
- 5 physical sense organs (ears, skin, eyes, tongue and nose)
- 5 organs of action (hands, feet, speech, elimination, procreation)
Rajas – gives rise to action
Tamas gives rise to:
The 5 Elements (Panch Mahabhutas) and their Subtle senses:
- Aakash – Ether – Sound
- Vayu – Air – Touch
- Agni – Fire – Sight
- Jal – Water – Taste
- Prithvi – Earth – Smell
There is no separation apart from that which is in the mind
The Sankhya philosophy teaches us that the only separation that has occurred from us to the creator of this entire universe is from our own individual intelligence (or lack of awareness).
We are all formed from one energy. The Brahmaan. The Aum, Ek Onkar, Oneness.
In fact to locate this divine essence we don’t even have to search outside of us. We are made up of stardust and therefore the universe lives within each of us.
Yogi’s, Rishi’s, Sages, Seers have seen, felt and journeyed within. Into their own heart space they felt the love of oneness.
Every Cell within you is connected to the Brahmaan
Imagine if every cell was to meditate and reach a state beyond Ahamkaar (ego) back to Mahat (cosmic consciousness) and from the unity of Purush and Prakruti. From here it dissects the union and sees itself and all in the formless heart of the Brahmaan.
It sounds like a dream. Some live this dream in their daily lives. We call them Enlightened. Ones who are at One with the One.
When every cell meditates we call this experience “Rom Rom”. In Sikhi they say each individual hair on the body has reached a state of bliss and exhilaration from its connection to the Oneness. In order for the hairs to do this it must first be a cellular experience. The cells dance, the bodies frequency lightens and one becomes free from the attachment of all that is Maya (illusion). Pure Divine Bliss.
