Break down your walls
It’s time to get out of your own way
Break down your walls
Society hides and lurks.
Culture is a web that can expand you
or close your horizons.
Tradition “this is how it has always been done”.
When you set “you” free,
all the other walls come down too.
Underneath it all is a unique you
living in the bliss of its own inner being.
Waiting to be freed, by YOU.
Society
The Social Network. The current trend.
Society in the modern age has crossed international borders and has a visible presence online yet it does what society has always done. It hides. It peers. It takes a sneak peek. It crosses the line. It creates community. It creates an ability to feel seen and heard yet the opposite is also true. It tells us to be quiet and to sit down.
Society likes you whilst you are relevant to the masses. Society follows trends, whatever is in fashion becomes whatever is modelled and this in turn becomes “normal”. A mathematical term to describe that which is most common.
You are not society.
Yet we all wear our own masks to say “look I’m no different to you”, “I fit in here”.
The only place you need to fit into is the space, the place in your own heart.
Society is just one wall that stops you or prepares you on the path to be more YOU. It is not you.
Culture
The identity we give ourselves and our local community that looks and feels closest to us.
“It is in my culture to…pray and have faith”
Culture is interesting because it contains the cult in which we are born into and the cults that we choose on our individual paths.
Choice, to choose your cults. To see yourself where your heart resonates most. To leave from places where your heart no longer feels safe. To lead from the heart place into divine space.
There’s no right nor wrong. There is only that which works for you or against you (in the wise words of Neale Donald Walsh’s Conversations with God).
Many people fall into Spiritual Cults and say “I have found my tribe” what they have actually found is a frequency of vibration that feels soothing and most like their own heart. A village. A community. However, this still isn’t really you.
Tradition
That which we do because this is how it was always done.
“Why do we do it this way?” asks the curious mind. Most people to whom we ask this very reasonable question do not have answers for what we seek. “Because we just do”.
The smart heart seeks experience and searches inwards for answers.
“When I do this, this way, what is it showing me?”,
“How does this benefit me?”,
“Is this healing me?”,
“Is this growing and expanding my heart?”
If it isn’t healing you, it isn’t growing you, it isn’t expanding your horizons then maybe it was never for your heart.
I have let many things go in my life and what I noticed over the years was that some of those things that I had let go are now growing me and my heart.
Traditions may not be understood by the thinking mind yet they may still hold a place in the experiential heart space.
YOU!
We can blame and shame Society, Culture and Tradition for our lack of being as much as we want. They are just side stories to our Main heart story.
Once the wall that has been put up by YOU comes crashing down then all the other excuses move out of your way too.
No one is to blame.
No one is to shame.
It is only time for the awareness of becoming you, the REAL you which takes significant inner training.
